Meet Joanne Krause
Registered Psychologist
Joanne is the Senior consultant Psychologist for Moving Forward Western. Joanne works with a compassion focussed approach with all clients. Her qualifications in addition to those as a Registered Psychologist include Bachelor Education (Special needs) and Diploma Teaching. Her work history includes Senior Psychologist for NSW Department Education (Schools), Senior Psychologist NSW Department Education (TAFE) , Principal Psychologist National Association for Loss and Grief (NALAG) and she is also a Board approved Supervisor for other Psychologists.
At Moving Forward Western Joanne is able to offer specialised Assessment and diagnostics services for both the general public as well as people registered with the NDIS for a broad range of conditions including the assessment of:
Developmental Disorders

For young people who are suspected of having intellectual disability, Global Developmental Delay, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Assessment of Behavioural, Social and Emotional Functioning

For children and adults who present with behavioural, social and/or emotional challenges.

Assessment considers the child or adults’ function across multiple environments (such as school, home, day program or work) and with all caregivers. This ensures we have a thorough picture and supports best outcomes for our clients and their families

Intellectual (IQ) Assessment

For adults or young people who are suspected of having an intellectual impairment. This would also form part of a learning disorder assessment.
Academic/Learning Assessment

Psychoeducational evaluations for children and adults suspected of having a Specific Learning Disorder (such as dyslexia).

Comprehensive Cognitive or Intellectual Evaluations

For neuropsychological problems such as Epilepsy, or following brain insult (such as head injury or stroke).

For memory concerns or degenerative disease (such as dementia).

Assessment includes testing of memory, language, executive functioning, visual skills, attention and processing speed.

Moving Forward Western is a a specialised Psychological assessment provider offering assessments for both children and Adults including ADHD, Autism, Mental Health, Cognitive & Behavioural and people registered with the NDIS.
Referral
A referral to see a Psychologist can be made by your GP or treating Doctor,At your first appointment the Psychologist will discuss initial assessment and treatment options.

We offer a confidential space to come and meet with a professional caring Psychologist. We offer after hours appointments as often work and childcare make it difficult to attend appointments in work and school hours.

After hours and Saturday appointments
We specialise in offering after hours appointments. We understand that work, family, school, childcare and other commitments and responsibilities can make it difficult to attend appointments in work and school hours. We currently have after hours appointments available for Workers Compensation counselling including:
